Apparently, at Matador records, they know how to please us. They annonced on their blog a few days ago the realease of a new Cat Power EP just in time for Christmas, December 9.
The EP will be called "Dark End of the Street". It was recorded at the same period of Jukebox and it will include songs originally recorded by The Pogues and Aretha Franklin.
It will be available both as a digital recording and as vinyl.
Here is the track listing :
1) Auld Triangle (The Pogues)* 2) Dark End Of The Street (James Carr, Aretha Franklin)* 3) Who Knows Where The Time Goes (Sandy Denny / Fairport Convention)* 4) Fortunate Son (Creedence Clearwater Revivial) 5) I’ve Been Loving You Too Long (To Stop Now) (Otis Redding) 6) It Ain’t Fair (Aretha Franklin)*
* - previously unreleased recordings.
I also found on a blog that Chan covered David Bowie "Space Oddity” for Lincoln's 2009 MKS commercial.

As the Dirty Delta Blues era is reaching its end - Chan Marshall announced on her myspace that after two years of touring together, they will go their separate ways, I felt like adding a Dirty Delta Blues section to the gallery.
The Dirty Delta Blues was composed of the very talented musicians, Judah Bauer - Guitar (The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion) Gregg Foreman - Piano/Organ (Delta 72) Erik Paparazzi - Bass (The Glass) and Jim White - Drums (Dirty Three). They formed a very classy quartet, that matched perfectly Chan Marshall musical evolution. Thank you guys for the great music !
But now, what's next ? Solo, another band, a hiatus ?
